According to reports, a Ghanaian was among the 21 coptic christains that were beheaded by the Islamic terrorist group (ISIS) on February 15.
Matthew Ayairga is reported to have been among 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians beheaded by the group on a Libyan beach.
ISIS released the video showing the gruesome beheadings on Sunday, February 15.
Ayairga was originally identified as Samuel A. Wilson, but friends who saw the video recognized and identified him as a Ghanaian national, Daily Guide Ghana reports.
He was said to be a construction worker in the Libyan City of Sirte and was reportedly travelling to Tripoli from Ghana when he was abducted.
Ghanaian authorities are however still trying to determine the accuracy of the report from the mission in Tripoli.
Egypt, on February 16, began airstrikes against ISIS targets in Libya in retaliation for the murder of its citizens.
