Latest reports say that the national coordinator of the Buhari Integrity Group, Alhaji Mubashiru Aliyu Bawan Allah, has died aged 55.
According to a Daily Trust report, the late Mubashiru Aliyu, who was the former chairman of the defunct Congress for Progressives Change (CPC) in Plateau State, died on February 7, 2015, Friday afternoon at a mosque in Kaulaha city, in Senegal.
The death of Mubashiru Aliyu was confirmed to journalists by the deceased’s elder brother, Barrister Muhammad Auwal Bidda.
He said that the former CPC stalwart died during the two rakaat prayers, usually said before commencement of the Juma’at prayer.
According to Auwal Bidda, “Nobody wants to die, but I would like to die in a similar way because he died in prostration, while on a visit to a mosque in Kaulaha.”
Speaking on the tragic incident, Pastor Joseph Dabit, a close associate of Aliyu and former secretary of the CPC in Plateau state, described the death as a loss to humanity and Nigeria.
It is understood that the Aliyu left behind his aged mother, Hajiya Hadiza Aliyu Bawan Allah, his wife, Hajiya Maryam, and seven children.
The deceased has since been buried in Kaulaha, in accordance with Islamic injunctions.
The late Mubashiru Aliyu was part of a political group that last August launched a grassroots campaign group called ‘the Buhariyya movement’ for Gen Buhari ahead of next month’s presidential election.
The group urged Nigerians to shun any political ideology that is built upon religious, tribal and regional sentiment for the overall interests of Plateau state and Nigeria at large.
According to Aliyu, Buhari is the only person that had ruled Nigeria, and has not looted the federal purse. He has not even a single house in Abuja, “talk less of him having accounts either here at home or abroad.”
“Buhari is not aspiring to lead Nigeria, for his selfish interest, but is bothered about the well being of his country, the one that you, I and he has,” he added.
