David Beckham Visit Causes Stampede At Shanghai University With 7 injured

David Beckham fans stormed a police cordon at Shanghai University today, as the British footballing star arrived for a visit leaving seven people, including five security guards injured it's been reported.

Nearly 1,000 fans had arrived for a glimpse of their hero at the Shanghai Tongji University where the dad of four was meeting members of the university football team, the MailOnline reports.
One member of the team Chu Dan, claimed there were just "too many fans," according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, "But we didn't expect so many people showing up here."

Beckham is in China on a seven day tour to promote football, but it hasn't been all sport. The stud was spotted chatting to actress Dame Helen Mirren at a recent party held to celebrate the Queen Elizabeth II's birthday.
The pair posed for pictures and looked to be in deep conversation at the party in Shanghai. David looked dapper as ever in a suit, while Helen looked demure in a yellow and black lace gown.

Ex-footballer David has spent his time in China promoting football to Chinese youths, but took some time out of his busy schedule to kick back with Mirren and other high-profile celebs at the Queen's birthday soiree. After cuddling up to Mirren, Becks will be reunited with wife Victoria at a charity auction in Bejing on Sunday.
